Absolute Label Services Anti-Fraud Policy
This policy outlines Absolute Label Services' stance against fraudulent activities, the responsibilities of End Users, and the actions taken to prevent, detect, and address fraud. It should be read alongside our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
End User: The individual or legal entity with a contractual relationship with Absolute Label Services.
Fraud: Any unauthorised exploitation of copyrighted content, misleading metadata (Musical Spam), bot-generated streams (Click Fraud), or other activities violating our Terms of Service or agreements with Digital Services Platforms (DSP).
Policy Statement
Fraud is unacceptable as it harms artists, content creators, and our business. We actively monitor and investigate potential fraud and take firm action where necessary.
Fraud Detection & Prevention
DSPs use automated and manual processes to detect and remove fraudulent content, withholding payments as needed.
We monitor sales data, artist profiles, and metadata for irregularities.
Our quality control (QC) processes prevent misleading metadata, unauthorised content, and duplicate uploads.
Handling Suspected Fraud
If fraud is detected, we notify the End User and enforce a three-strike policy:
Strike 1: Content takedown, warning issued.
Strike 2: Content takedown, final warning before account suspension.
Strike 3: Account blocked, all content removed, and royalties held for up to five years.
Accounts may be blocked immediately for critical violations, such as fake account information, excessive suspicious streaming, or impersonation.
Blocked accounts must provide verification (e.g., ID, artist profiles, contracts) within five working days to be reinstated.
At Absolute’s discretion, a zero tolerance policy may apply in certain cases. This means the account will be terminated immediately and any associated deal agreements will be voided without notice.
Withholding & Escrow of Royalties
Royalties linked to fraudulent activity may be withheld for up to five years to allow for legal claims by DSPs or rightful content owners.
If no claims arise after five years, withheld royalties may be released to the End User.
Under no circumstances will royalties proven to have been fraudulently obtained be paid to the End User. If no valid claims arise within five years, Absolute reserves the right to reallocate or retain those funds at its sole discretion.
Content Takedowns
Fraudulent or infringing content will be removed.
DSPs may independently flag and remove suspicious content at their discretion.
Absolute Label Services is committed to fair and ethical digital music distribution. We reserve the right to take necessary action to protect content creators and maintain the integrity of our platform.
