Introducing: TikTok for Artists

Designed to help artists and their teams optimise promotional strategies, inform content creation and boost fan engagement, TikTok has launched their new platform, TikTok For Artists. The platform is now live and is available to those with a certified TikTok Artist Account, where artists are then able to share different levels of access to their TikTok For Artists profile amongst their label and teams.

By providing actionable performance data surrounding an artist's music, posts and TikTok community, teams will now be able to build the most effective TikTok campaigns for their releases.

Platform Key Features

TikTok For Artists’ user-friendly portal provides a range of highly useful release metrics, including the below:


Trends: This feature provides two graph timeline options - one showcasing the number of posts utilising an artist’s songs, and another showcasing the view count of these posts, allowing artists to monitor when trends appear.

Song Performance: Artists are also now able to compare how each individual track of theirs is performing on TikTok, through daily updated stats. These stats include the number of posts created using the song (Posts), the number of views from posts that include this song (Post Views), the number of users who have created posts with their song (Creators), and the track release date.

Top Viewed Posts With The Artists Songs: This third feature provides a breakdown of the top viewed posts using one of the artist’s releases - outlining the post’s count of views, likes, comments, shares. This feature allows the user to choose different time periods to analyse, from the past 72 hours to the past 180 days, allowing artists to target various viral moments within their campaign.

Pre-Release Tool: Within the platform, TikTok have also launched the Pre-Release tool, a new feature providing a functional new way for artists to promote their upcoming albums on TikTok. Utilising this tool will allow fans to pre-save your new album to their preferred DSP, including Spotify and Apple Music, directly from TikTok. Upon the album’s release, the listeners will then automatically have the album displayed to them on their streaming service account. 

What Does This Mean for TikTok Campaigns?

As a social media platform, TikTok is actively trying to find ways for artists to amplify their new music and upcoming campaigns. With TikTok For Artists, artists and their teams are now able to gain better insight into their own fanbase and activity, but also that of the larger TikTok community as a whole, providing a better understanding of where to target their promotion.

This ultimately allows artists to have better insight into how to tailor their posts for the For You feed and music detail pages, be able to highlight top fan videos to build a stronger fan community, and drive engagement with their music.
